Falafy is an independent app for servers, text chat, voice chat, screen sharing and webcam. The layout will feel familiar to anyone who already uses community apps: servers, channels, roles and invite links. The essentials are free, and Falafy+ is optional. It's an independent project with no connection to Discord Inc.

Why have an alternative
Every group has its own reasons to try another app: wanting free voice and screen sharing, preferring an ad-free app made in Portuguese, or simply having an agreed backup plan for when any service goes down in the middle of a match.

Install Falafy on Windows from the Download page or use the web version, with nothing to install. Create your account with your email.

Give it a name, pick an icon and set up text and voice channels by category, just the way your group is used to.
- 3Send the invite link
Generate a
falafy.com.br/i/CODElink and paste it into the group chat where your friends already talk. Anyone who opens the link goes straight into the server. - 4Set up roles and rules (optional)
Create roles with permissions, private channels, rules new members accept, and moderation tools. You can do it later, while everyone's already chatting.
You can't import old messages from another app. The fastest way is to create the server, send the link to your current group chat and carry on the conversation there.

What is the best free alternative to Discord?
It depends on how you use it. If you want servers, voice chat, screen sharing and webcam without paying and without ads, in your language, Falafy was built for that. There are apps for Windows, macOS and Linux; there is no app in the mobile app stores yet, and in that case you can use it in the browser (on iPhone, from the Home Screen).
Is Falafy affiliated with Discord?
No. Falafy is an independent Brazilian project built from scratch. Discord is a registered trademark of Discord Inc. Falafy is not affiliated with, associated with, authorized by or endorsed by Discord Inc.
Can I transfer my Discord server to Falafy?
There is no automatic import. You create the server on Falafy, recreate the channels and send the invite link to your group. It takes a few minutes.
Is Falafy really free?
Yes. There are no ads, and voice, chat, servers, webcam, 720p60 streaming, profiles and badges are free for everyone. Falafy+ is optional, for people who want 1080p60 and bigger files, and anyone who joined before the paid plans is a Founder and keeps everything they had.
Was Discord blocked in Brazil?
No. In 2026 the ANPD ordered a precautionary suspension of Discord's video features in Brazil, and since August 17, 2026 Discord has had no video calls, Go Live or screen sharing in the country; according to the company, messages and voice keep working. Is there a Brazilian alternative to Discord?
Yes. Falafy is an independent, free Brazilian app with servers, text and voice channels, roles, invite links, screen sharing at up to 1080p60 and webcam. It was created in 2026 by Erick Torres, its data is hosted in São Paulo and it has no ads; Falafy+ is an optional plan. It is not affiliated with Discord Inc.
Does Falafy work on iPhone?
Yes, in the browser. On iPhone, open falafy.com.br/app in Safari, tap Share and then "Add to Home Screen": Falafy becomes an icon, with voice and notifications. There is no Falafy app on the App Store yet. On Android there is an app (APK), and on computers there are apps for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Does Falafy have end-to-end encryption?
For calls, yes: voice and video calls in DMs and group DMs are end-to-end encrypted. The keys are made on the participants' devices (X25519 exchange), the server never sees them, and a safety code shown in the call lets you check nobody is in the middle. Server voice rooms are encrypted in transit, with per-room keys issued by the server, so those are not end-to-end. Text messages are not end-to-end encrypted yet; that is in development.
